Boiling hot
Warm up liquid drinks or meals on the go with FLASH, a compact burner and cooking container that can be packed around for those times when you're out in the bush and crave a cup of hot chocolate. Made by JetBoil, the cooking container doubles as a one-litre mug and sits atop a small butane canister with a recycling tool that safely punctures it when it's empty to allow for recycling. Setting up the canister and butane apparatus is simple and boiling water is just two quick minutes away with a click of a button. Safety features include a tripod base, an insulating cozy with a colour-change temperature indicator showing users when the contents are boiling.

Efficient engines
Get your engine cylinders firing more efficiently with the Nika Tech re-plating process by CVTech-AAB Inc. Designed specifically for sleds, the re-plating process coats an aluminum cylinder wall with a composite of nickel alloy and silicon carbide particles. The end result provides superb resistance to damage by piston rings, a more efficient engine due to less clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall and a better cooling system. To re-plate a cylinder, the team at CVTech-AAB Inc. cleans the cylinder and uses chemicals to remove the old coating. Next, the cylinder is repaired if needed by machining, boring or welding and then coated with the Nika-Tech solution. To finish, diamond tools are used to do a finishing bore that perfects the coating.
The Nika-Tech process was developed over the course of 10 years, with chemists, metallurgists and engineers working on it until it was deemed marketable to consumers. Based in Thetford Mines, Quebec, the company is a leader in repair and restoration—not just for snowmobiles, but motorbikes, ATVs, watercraft and other two- and four-stroke engines. As motor sport racers often tinker with their machines to squeeze every ounce of performance out of them, stock engines are often modified. CVTech-AAB Inc. can duplicate or repair any modified cylinder in their new 36,000-square-foot facility.
