Smoky Lake Pining away
"It's not congested here; there are so many trails in the area, not just the Iron Horse, so you can go off in a number of different directions. We have numerous other trails that loop off the Iron Horse where people can take day trips.
"There's an area called The Pines that is located six miles southeast of Smoky Lake and it's really popular. In there, you can go snowmobiling all day and all night and never hit the same trail twice. We also have a camp kitchen there, so people can stop and make themselves something to eat. It's a really family-oriented area where there's lots to do.
"We are only an hour away from Edmonton, so we are in a great spot for visitors and we have a great staging area where people can drop off their vehicles and unload their equipment. We put a lot of work into our trails and we try to make them the best they can be." — Vern Billey, president of Smoky Lake Trail Twisters Snowmobile Club
