SNOWMOBILING IN Gold Bridge / Bralorne
Sledding by a ghost town

Up in the Bridge River Valley near Pemberton, about two hours away from Whistler, a gem lies hidden in the mountains.

Bralorne, an old mining town deserted after the tunnels ran dry, now has some new life with the Mines Motel and the Claim Jumper Restaurant and Bar and managing partner Jacques Beaudoin saying that the area offers a one-of-a-kind snowmobile experience.

The old town is accessible by a groomed 56 kilometre forestry road that allows riders to sled right into the town before heading off into the mountains.

The ride to Bralorne is perfect for the beginning sledder and Beaudoin said that the town is surrounded by terrain that ranges from steep climbs to gentle bowls, offering thrills for the novice to the expert.

Guided tours are available across a circuit of backcountry trails that offer something for every taste. Riders taking the Hurley Trail can access Pemberton from this area.
