KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Mountains of fun
Superb riding conditions make this place an ideal spot to sled

LET LOOSE: Both novice and experienced sledders can find a place to ride around Kamloops.
Kamloops is one of those areas that offers a whole lot for snowmobilers who are looking to have some fun in the mountains.

One thing that makes Kamloops stand out is its diversity in terms of what it has to offer riders of all levels. Within an hour and a half of the city, sledders can enjoy a plethora of riding experiences—from groomed trails and easy slopes to some extreme mountain challenges.

Kamloops, one of the largest cities in the B.C Interior, makes the perfect home base. Snowmobilers can enjoy a wide variety of services at its many hotels, bed and breakfasts, upscale restaurants, fast-food outlets, entertainment venues and snowmobile dealerships for all the major brands.

One interesting aspect about this area is the weather. It is said that in spring you can ride in perfect snow conditions one day, then play a round of golf at a local course the next. Winter conditions are always superb at the high elevations.

Tod Mountain
Another fun place worth mentioning is Tod Mountain, near Sun Peaks Resort. With snow depths of more than two metres, this area offers a long season at 1,350 to 2,100-metre elevations. The mountain’s sledding area provides a range of novice, intermediate and challenging riding conditions on trails, roads and lakes.

Rossmore Lake
One ride that boasts remarkably high elevations is the Rossmore Lake area. At 1,200 to 1,800 metres, this place enjoys a lot of snow, with depths reaching nearly two metres. There are many novice and intermediate trails, including a pipeline route that provides access to Rossmore Lake, which is known for its excellent ice fishing opportunities.

Adams Plateau
According to some of the local snowmobilers in Kamloops, the Adams Plateau features excellent trail and meadow riding with amazing views from the 1,200 to 1,500-metre marks. Snow depths here can reach up to three metres, which means there is plenty of powder all winter long.
