SNOWMOBILING IN Logan Lake
Logan Lake area loaded with trails
When you are in Logan Lake you are in the heart of the Highland Valley Plateau between Merritt and Kamloops. With reasonable rates for accommodations and a friendly winter ambience the area is becoming more popular with sledders of all abilities and machines.
Snowmobiling is backed by strong support from the chamber of commerce and the municipal government.
The area is fast becoming known for family riding with no real threat of avalanches. In fact, there are approximately 500 kilometres of marked trails in the network and another 1,500 kilometres of trails in the process of being mapped. As funding becomes available these will be marked as well. For more information on snowmobiling in the region contact the Logan Lake Snowriders (250) 523-6551.
Salmon Arm & Fly Hills
The Salmon Arm Snow Blazers is your host club to the winter wonderland of snowmobiling. The riding area is known as Fly Hills. Access is achieved two miles west of the city centre on the Trans-Canada. Take the Salmon Valley Road to Christensen Road to the parking lot or the snow line. There is a chalet on the main forest access road at the junction of Wallensteen/Granite Peak Road. There are warm up shelters at Bolean Lake Road, Kernaghan Lake and China Valley Road. Now on to the trails. There are about 70 kilometres of marked and groomed trails for your pleasure. The trails form three loops of varied sizes leading from the main chalet with extensions to Bolean, Arthur and Spa Lakes and Granite Peak.
Try the Crowfoot Trails
The Salmon Forest District presents the Crowfoot Mountain Snowmobile Trails which cover about 20 square kilometres of riding area on groomed ungroomed and alpine area trails. Turn left onto Beguelin Road and proceed north to the Line 17 Road intersection. Turn right onto the Line 17 Road and continue until the junction of Garland Road. Turn left on to Garland Road and proceed north to the parking lot. You have finally arrived. Its a nine-kilometre journey to the day use chalet on Crowfoot Mountain.
