SNOWMOBILING IN pemberton
Glacier riding at its best

Rising up into the 2,400-metre range from the valley floor at around 200 metres, your ears are sure to pop if you go sledding around Pemberton.

The sledding mostly takes place on the Pemberton Ice Cap, which is accessed through Rutherford Creek, about four kilometres south of the town.

This glacier is vast, with an amazing amount of sledding terrain available, although the steep terrain leading to it, and the natural dangers that the glacier possesses, make only the lowland trails advisable for beginning snowmobilers.

If riding on the glacier, it is advisable that a local guide is present, along with survival gear, a probe, shovel and emergency locators for each rider.

The local snowmobile club is currently in the process of working out a land use agreement for the more popular riding areas.
