SNOWMOBILING THE INTERLAKE Land of the lakes So much snow!
Come ride in one of the most undiscovered places in Manitoba. Manitoba is known for its superb snowmobiling, but there is no better place than in Biscuit Harbour, according to those who ride there. Located just south of Pine Dock on Highway 234, Biscuit Harbour is a place worth mentioning when it comes to snowmobiling because the trails here are popular for their scenic beauty and wide variety of terrain.
Our trails wind through mature forest, along ridges and around picturesque inland lakes, said Mark Dann, who maintains all of the trails in the area. Once you arrive here, there are so many dense forests but not that many roads to cross because it is somewhat isolated.
What makes Biscuit Harbour stand out is its long snowmobiling seasonit starts earlier than most places on the Prairies and usually lasts through March and early April due to the abundance of early lake effect snow they receive off of Lake Winnipeg.
There is also amazing scenery off trail in the nearby Canadian Shield and along Lake Winnipeg's limestone cliffs, said Dann.
Opportunities are almost endless here since the resort is situated on 400 acres of wilderness along the shores of Lake Winnipeg. When you're not snowmobiling, there are many other activities to choose from, like ice skating, cross-country skiing or soaking in your own private hot tub. The resort also features a restaurant, lounge and deck that overlooks the harbour. There is a spectacular view out onto the bay in any season and the restaurant is furnished with handmade log furniture that is as comfy as it is beautiful.
