SNOWMOBILING IN DUCK MOUNTAIN PROVINCIAL PARK
Snowmobiling in Manitoba's Duck Mountain Provincial Park
 |
Located in the heart of Manitobas Parklands region between Dauphin and Swan River, the areas in and around Duck Mountain Provincial Park offer excellent sledding opportunities.
With the Swan Valley Snowmobile/ATV Association (SVSAA) to the north and the Intermountain Snowmobile Club to the south, groomed and signed trail systems are abundant, and include portions of the Trans-Canada Trail.
Wildlife is plentiful in this part of Manitoba and riders should keep an eye out for signs of deer, moose, elk and timber wolves. Several warm-up shacks are located along the trails, both inside and outside the park boundaries, where snowmobilers can rest and share stories of their adventures.
Riders can also take part in several exciting annual events held in the Parkland region, including the SVSAAs Poker Derby in January or the spring snocross.
Anglers may want to bring their fishing pole along for the ride as this area boasts excellent ice fishing at the many deep glacial lakes.
So head for the hills of Duck Mountain Provincial Park this year and enjoy the cool, crisp days of winter.
