You never feel like a stranger on a visit to Baudette. While the scenic trails running along Lake of the Woods—including the popular Big Traverse Trail—make this community a preferred sledding destination, it’s the down-to-earth attitude of the residents that keep people coming back.
The Lake of the Woods Drifters Snowmobile Club holds several events throughout the year that are worth checking out, as a good time is all but guaranteed with the friendly Baudette snowmobilers. Ice fishing is a favourite local pastime in this lakeside town, and the many fishing huts that dot the area’s ice-covered lakes—each swimming with giant walleye—are popular sledding destinations.
