ARCHERWILL, SK
The perfect mix
"I don't even know where to begin when I start talking about riding in Archerwill. We've got some of the nicest conditions in Saskatchewan. We have open fields and hills and some really scenic trails through the forest. We generally get really good snow conditions—last year we had between three and four feet of snow.
"Our trails connect with other towns like Rose Valley, Humboldt, Greenwater Lake Provincial Park and Hudson Bay. If you want to go off the trail and play, there's all kinds of opportunities for that. We have three different warm-up shelters with an ample supply of wood, and solar panels for lighting at night.
"There's plenty of ice fishing around here. If you want to fish for walleye or perch, there's Greenwater Lake and Marean Lake. East of Greenwater, there’s Steiestol Lake, which has been stocked with rainbow trout.
"We have a snowmobile rally every year that gets riders from as far away as Regina and Saskatoon and from all our nearby towns. This year, it is scheduled for February 17."
