SNOWMOBILING IN Candle Lake
Candle Lake club report
The Candle Lake Sno Drifters Snowmobile Club has had an exciting and rewarding year! Our objective is to organize and promote safe snowmobiling and to encourage community involvement and the spirit of fellowship among our members. We promote the true spirit of snowmobiling, safety first, seeing nature at its best and lasting friendships and family fun.
Our club had a great year with the hard work of its members sharing successes with the community. The Candle Lake Sno Drifters board of directors and the membership took every opportunity to discuss the objectives of our group, our trail systems and the importance of having a trail permit. Through the dedication to maintain the trail system with well groomed trails, signage and with the support of our members, the residents of Candle Lake have started asking for memberships. In 2000-2001 we have 55 paid membershipstwice as many as the 1998-1999 season. This directly reflects the promotion of our club through our members.
After many years of hard work we believe our trail system is of international standard. We groom and maintain 350 kilometres of our own trail system as well as 150 kilometres of the Whelan Bay Trail system. Our trail system is completely signed and the five warm-up shacks are clean and stocked with wood.
We are planning to increase our trail system in the near future for the enjoyment of the community. We are proud to be Candle Lake Sno Drifters and look forward to the 2001-2002 season!
