CANORA, SK
Snowmobiling with spirit
Canora is the gateway to the trails of Duck Mountain and Good Spirit
by AMBER COWIE

KEEPING SPIRITS HIGH: Riders in Central Saskatchewan know that Canora cannot be beat for access to trail networks that extend nearly as far as the eye can see.
Located in the “Heart of Good Spirit Country”, Canora is a fantastic destination for snowmobilers looking to explore the wide range of riding options that Saskatchewan has to offer. From trails that twist and turn around stunning ice-covered lakes to rides along frozen rivers sparkling in the bright winter sunlight, snow riders in Canora will get exactly what they expected and more with each and every ride. As well, Canora is a great jumping off point to the wide web of trail systems in both Duck Mountain Provincial Park and Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park.

Duck Mountain
Duck Mountain is the ultimate combination of adventure and comfort offering powdery lakeside trails enjoyable to riders of any skill level. Six warm-up cabins dot the trail network, located at strategic points to allow riders to make the most of their riding day. The trails in Duck Mountain weave in and out of the lush mixed forests allowing riders a chance at glimpsing local wildlife like deer or woodpeckers.

Duck Mountain spans the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border, so riders have the rare opportunity to sled in two provinces on the same day and still make it home in time for dinner. A well designed trail system makes it easy for snowmobilers to access trails throughout the area.

Good Spirit Lake

With over 18 kilometres of groomed trails dipping in and around the picturesque lake for which the park is named, Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park is the perfect place for a family to spend a day on their sleds. The warm-up shelter at the south end of the park is an excellent venue for a winter afternoon picnic—just don’t forget the hot chocolate as the winter sun can only do so much to ease the chill of a prairie winter.
