When Kamsack farmer Ernie Bodnarek is not working on his field or employed as a welder in northern British Columbia, chances are you’ll find him on his snowmobile somewhere.
And that somewhere is usually on the trails in and around Kamsack.
“We get so much snow here and we groom all of the trails,” said Bodnarek, who is a member of the Kamsack Sno-Drifters. “You can have a lot of fun out here.”
Snowmobilers will discover opportunities for every level of rider around Kamsack. In a 10-mile stretch, a sledder can enjoy wakes, groomed trails, wide open fields and rolling hills. With that said, it’s no wonder that Kamsack and the surrounding area are home to some of Saskatchewan’s finest snowmobiling spots.
“Our club tries their hardest to maintain these trails, which are enjoyed by snowmobilers from across Western Canada,” said Bodnarek.
The town of Kamsack, 80 kilometres north of Yorkton, is situated in the scenic Assiniboine River Valley. This picturesque area is known for some of Western Canada’s most beautiful vistas.
Popular places to ride here are Duck Mountain Provincial Park and the Moose Range Lodge Area.
The town of Kamsack is also very snowmobile friendly, said Bodnarek.
“If you drive in town, you will see many snowmobiles parked at some of the restaurants,” said Bodnarek.
