Celebrate the new year with the Haines Junction Snowmobile Club. After enjoying a free breakfast at the Alcan Motor Inn, participants of the New Year's Day Poker Run will ride from Haines Junction and follow the old pipeline route to Kluane National Park campground, where they will draw cards and be treated to hot chocolate at a heated cook shack.

According to event organizer Wade Istchenko, the route covers 50 miles of beautiful backcountry with excellent scenery along the way. It is great community fun and the entire family is welcome.

"This is a fun event for all ages, including families and beginner snowmobilers," said Istchenko.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three poker hands, the worst hand, lowest hand and the youngest and oldest riders.
