Join in the Off-Road Expo
A sometimes forgotten industry is revving its engine and making tons of noise this September at the Canadian Off-Road Expo in Red Deer
If you have ever driven down a gravel trail or gone over bumpy terrain in your car or truck, then you have been off-roading—just not to the extreme. However, this weekend, prepare yourself to witness feats of bravery, crushing metal and roaring engines at this action-packed off-roading event—all in the metropolis of Red Deer. For two days, outdoor enthusiasts and off-roaders alike will compete in the ultimate and largest indoor off-road competition in North America, the Canadian Off-Road Expo. The event has gotten so big that organizers have expanded the facilities and are holding the live events at the Enmax Centrium, which is the largest indoor venue in all of central Alberta.

In the centre of excitement
For the best experience possible, make sure you allow time to take in lots of events and wander through the used four-by-four sales lot and trade show area. Corey Giesbrecht, the president of the Canadian Off-Road Expo, said that the weekend brings ATVs and trucks into a market where they are usually overshadowed by other motorized vehicles.
“The truck and ATV industry has always been overshadowed by other industries for so long that we are excited to put them into the spotlight,” said Giesbrecht. “Creating a show in Canada that brings the ATVs to the spotlight instead of being behind the motorcycles and such is really hitting a target market that has been untouched for so long.”
Unyielding adrenalin
Included in the weekend’s activities will be the highly anticipated Toyo Tires Rock Crawl competition, an ATV obstacle race, a McDonald’s play area for children, an expansive used four-by-four lot and a trade show area. In addition, off-road racing legend Ivan Stewart will be in attendance. Danielle Klooster, the business and project manager for Outbound Productions, said having Ivan Stewart at the off-road expo will be monumental for people passionate about off-road racing.
“To have someone like Ivan Stewart who is so established in the off-road market is very meaningful for the true off-roader,” said Klooster. “We are glad he is coming and we are excited about it.”
The Off-Road Expo will be held September 6 & 7. For more information, go to www.offroadexpo.ca.

Hit the road, Jack
Over 15 years ago, Jack Industries designed and manufactured the Seat Jack. Today, we create 23 different passenger seat models to fit all snowmobile sport models, from 1992 and up. They’re easy to install, durable, comfortable and safe. Another invention of ours—Retrack Jack—offers a safe and secure option for loading your recreational machines. This system features telescoping ramps that fasten in the box of a pickup truck. The ramps, which are made of galvanized steel, can be adjusted for loading and unloading a snowmobile or a four-wheeled vehicle. They are designed with Teflon runners and anti-skid supergrips. Visit our website for more information about Seat Jacks, Retrack Jacks and all other Jack accessories.
