Trail enhancement was top priority for the Dauphin club this year

A NEW HANGOUT: The Dauphin Snowmobile Club has a new warm-up shelter.

The Dauphin Snowmobile Club (DSC) is having a great year. We have adequate snowfall, although more is always better. Trails and signage are excellent—it’s probably our best year ever.

We added some directional mileage signs to provide hope to those out on the trails. We are also very proud to have added a club-owned warm-up shelter on the trail. It makes for a destination on a Sunday afternoon or a place to shake the chill on a midnight run. It has solar/battery-powered timed lighting and a huge stove in case we want to add on or heat a hot tub out back. Just put in a few sticks if you stop by for a visit. It is getting a lot of use, which is great to see.

We had a very successful year-end derby that had 130+ riders. We held a Keld meltdown derby on March 9th. It is a gorgeous trail and always a good time. We are working to develop the trail and make the Keld Park an additional warm-up shelter hopefully soon.

We just had a Sweetheart Dinner and Dance, which also drew a crowd and added some cash to the coffers. Local sponsors were very generous, which helped make the draws and silent auctions attractive and successful. The club continues to work hard. We have a committed crew who look after the trails, a dedicated executive and a strong membership.

We thank those trail riders in the area who support us by purchasing their Snopasses and showing up at our events. It shows us that what we are doing out there as volunteers means something.

Throughout the world, climate change, declines in water quality and loss of forested land are negatively affecting ecosystems and creating economic impacts. "Seeing Green" is a vision for a dynamic, eco-friendly economy that sustains our natural assets, promotes a healthy and vibrant society, and ensures a prosperous future.
