Going wild with mods
This custom sled and ATV shop started as one man's hobby and flourished to become a full-time business

From tune-ups to complete overhauls, Jarrid Juse—who is the owner of Absolute Power & Performance in St. Albert, Alberta—does it all.
Juse started doing modifications in his garage eight years ago; then he decided to turn his hobby into a business, and it really took off.
“I started doing work for family and friends, and then friends of friends,” said Juse. “The business increased, so I thought I should have a company name and make a go out of it that way—and things just sort of took off.”
For his whole life sleds have been a passion for Juse and ever since he could walk, he’s been riding them. And now, any machine he rides has been modified.
In fall, when guys are preparing their sleds for winter, Juse sees quite a few machines pass through the shop and the biggest demand is for more power.
"Increased performance is the biggest benefit done on a snowmobile or ATV."
Other modifications he has done involve lightening a snowmobile for better flotation in deep powder, increasing horsepower for better power to weight ratio, installing lightweight components to increase comfort and improving the sleds agility.
Even though modifying sleds involve lot of time and effort, Juse gains satisfaction from doing what he likes.
"Building a custom sled involves a lot of labour and thought to complete," said Juse. "Taking what a customer has dreamed of for a sled and making it reality for him or her is very satisfying."
For Juse, being able to provide his customers with the latest in high-performance products while at the same time backing this with excellent customer service has been his greatest achievement.
"Many of my customers trust my expertise in custom mods," said Juse, "and Absolute Power & Performance's track record has proven it to be one of the top modifiers in the industry."
When asked what he enjoys most about doing modifications, Juse replied, "I like making customers happy with the custom fabrication and products I sell or install—and the fact that I get to work on so many different machines. It's a passion of mine."
