CBC’s Stroumboulopoulos plans to Yahk it up
The petition worked—George Stroumboulopoulos is coming to Yahk
by JEFFREY COOPER

The Hour’s George Stroumboulopoulos

The latest word on the street is that CBC Newsworld’s program The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos will be coming to Yahk for a live broadcast on Thursday, February 9th.

“Remember, it was Kyle who said he didn’t want to go to Yahk,” said Stroumboulopoulos on The Hour. “I, on the other hand, would love to go to Yahk.”

The date has not been set in stone, so stay tuned to this web site for further updates and more information.

George will not be alone in Yahk
Several film crews and various other media are also planning to attend the main event for MacDonald’s trade in Yahk, B.C.

Montreal-based documentary filmmaker Tara Johns will be on hand to catch all the action as she continues to follow MacDonald’s story, and several other big name television, radio and print media outlets are also considering a trip to Yahk.

Still making headlines
In other news, media outlets are still seeking out the increasingly well-known Red Paperclip trader for TV, radio and newspaper interviews.

Early in the new year, a video game television show called G4TV Attack of the Show flew MacDonald to L.A. for an interview. You can see the video at www.g4tv.com.

More recently, MacDonald had a record breaking seven radio interviews on January 19, including programs from New York, Texas and Australia.

Maclean’s magazine has even picked up the story and named MacDonald one of the top five “Newsmakers of the week” for the week of January 23, 2006. You can read their story at www.macleans.ca.
