Sometimes you need a mountain sled on the prairies. Grant Rusk took this shot of Justin Wappel up in La Ronge, SK. Justin said he tried to get his 2002 Polaris RMK stuck in the metre-deep snow, but ended up pulling out everyone else!

We received this hotshot from rider Elvis Penton pushing his Polaris Classic Tour to the limit. Penton, who was sledding near Fort McMurray, AB, on March 7, 2005, said the temperature hit nine degrees Celcius that afternoon.

After travelling 11 hours from Fort McMurray, AB, Ian Bragg and his girlfriend Sandra said it was worth it when they finally hit the trails near Tumbler Ridge, B.C. “A group of six of us decided to go after reading one of your articles on Tumbler Ridge,” Ian said. “The review was great so off we went.”

DUFF'S DITCH?
One place you do not want to get your RX-1 stuck, according to Morley Truba from Tyndall, MB, is in a ditch full of bulrushes and willows. But he told us it was a beautiful day and after 20 minutes of digging, a little push and 10,500 rpms she came right out.

Alan Pylatuk said it was a nice day on Boulder Mountain in Revelstoke, B.C., and the boys were showing off their stuff. But then Alan's wife Anita decided it was time to show the boys how it was done and they left with their egos broken.

During a 10-day, 1,165-kilometre saddlebag tour, Jim and Pam Smith raced their 550 fans across Madge Lake in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Saskatchewan. This winter Jim, Pam and the photographer, Curtis Johnson—now all in their 60s—will ride from Emma Lake, SK, to Cold Lake, AB, and back.

Ron Willert wrote to us about a trip to the Renshaw in McBride from December 1 to 5, 2004. Willert wrote: " This was taken at the top of the trail as we just got into the meadow. The snow was very deep powder—we got 18 sleds stuck just like that."
