Manitoba’s race scene
I’ve photographed Manitoba’s sports scene for over 30 years. I’m probably best known for my in-close shooting style, where I make you feel like you’re right along side me, as part of the action.
I mainly cover motorsports events, especially in the wintertime. I’m the official event photographer for the Ultimate Canadian Motorsports Association’s Sno-X series and the Canadian Power Toboggan Championships. As well, I’ve covered USCC cross country sled racing in the United States, and I have plans to cover local snow drags in 2009.
A senior member of SportsShooter, the world’s premier association of sports photographers, I’m also co-founder and administrator of Ten Thousand Frames, Manitoba’s online community for advanced and professional photographers.
For further information, examples of my photography, or to contact me about an event, please visit my website or email me. I’m very excited about my new association with SnoRiders, and I’m looking forward to telling the stories about our great sport.

One-on-one with sled drag racer Don Hebert
When spring comes, and the snow melts, most riders put their sleds away. Manitoba’s Don Hebert, bucks that trend by taking his sled out of storage, and racing it on the drag strip at Gimli Dragway. An hour’s drive north of Winnipeg, Gimli is home to a small cadre of summertime sled racers. Don was kind enough to give us an insight into their segment of the sport.
