June 2008 | Welcome to the SnoRiders eNewsletter
SnoRiders believes in the old adage “change is good” and that's why we are redesigning our entire website. When finished, it will load faster, be easier to read and more informative than its predecessor. If you haven't done so already, visit the home page for a taste of what the rest of the site will soon look like.

Spotlighting this month's newsletter is our ride reviewer Dwayne Brandly’s story about his sledding adventure in Sicamous, B.C. Despite unco-operative weather, Brandly found many reasons to return to this superb riding area next season. Also included in this newsletter are product reviews, destination profiles and favourites from our sister site, www.myGolfWest.com.

SICAMOUS, BRITISH COLUMBIA
A marvellous trip
The alarm sounded at 5:30 a.m. on March 2, 2008. I quickly woke up and shut it off, trying not to wake my wife in my hurry to get dressed. I had not slept much that night in anticipation of the coming drive to Sicamous, B.C. It was going to be a great sledding trip.

McBRIDE, BRITISH COLUMBIA
A heavenly ride
In need of a sledding adventure, I went off to Horsey Creek, which is 30 kilometres from McBride on Highway 16, with my friends Trent Hoffman, Don Heberling, Jamie Cook and Dean Shwaga.

Ron LaRoy first rode on a snowmobile in 1969 and knew in that instant that he had found one of his favourite pastimes. Since moving to the Revelstoke region in 1974, he has spent the bulk of his sledding time travelling along his favourite trails in the region.
SMITHERS, BRITISH COLUMBIA

CELISTA, BC
Snow ghosts

This unusual photo was taken in the Crowfoot riding area near Celista, B.C., in February 2008. Jim Lamar, the photographer, and his friend Brian Farkus, the rider, were snowmobiling on top of the mountains when they spotted the large group of snow ghosts. Thanks Jim for sending us this photo—it is one-of-a-kind.
