OLD
SLED ZONE
Better than a dog and sled team
Tom Domin of Sparwood, B.C. models his 1957 Autoboggan
Polaris. This sled, which is still in excellent condition,
weighs 625 pounds, is 12.5 feet long and has a 12.8-horsepower
engine.
"For the trapper, commercial fishers the Autoboggan
provides greater versatility than dog-team travel and
requires no upkeep during the off-season," read marketing
material for the antique. The old-fashioned sled cost
just over $2,000 new in 1957. |
