Ariens Arrow 400ss

I have an Ariens Arrow 400ss that currently has 672 miles on the functional speedometer. It has always been garaged had a light hit in the front which broke one hood latch, which I am now seeking. The gas tank rusted on the inside so currently it has a standard Wal-mart two gallon plastic can for a tank. It has had two owners since new.

I am curious as to the value of this sled as I have never seen one.

I am also curious to find the specific year and production quantity for the Arrow. I plan on showing it in vintage shows and riding it. It's a nice looking sled and I hope it'll be a conversation piece at shows.

From what we understand, the Ariens Arrow is one of the most sought out old sleds, probably because they’re pretty hard to find. The Ariens company, the same company that made the Ariens snowblowers, built snowmobiles for only five years—1969-1973. The company was located at 655 W. Ryan St., Brillion, Wisconsin.

The Ariens Arrow 400ss was built in 1971 through to 1973. We have seen a few listed for sale and here’s the price range:

1969 Ariens Single Cylinder, Sachs engine $300
1970 Ariens Arrow 400 $995
1972 Ariens $995

We’ve posted an Ariens ad that appeared in October 1970 for you to compare. All the best and we hope you enjoy showing your Ariens Arrow.
