OLD
SLED ZONE
Winter
camping with these Elite models
You dont need a brand-new roaring
monster-machine to have a great time in the snow, according
to a reader from Groverdale, Alberta.
Mike Head owns three Bombardier Elites made in 1972, 1978
and 1979 and with a little care and attention has turned
them into the perfect conveyances for winter touring and
camping, especially the 78.
I customized it a little with an under-dash heater,
CD player and also a Warn Winch, wrote Head.
Head has also rigged up a box tent in a large skimmer
for those long camping trips in the dead of winter which
he is able to set up in a flash.
Ive been having too much fun with this unit,
said Head.
He acknowledged that these sleds are pretty rare but he
thought that Bombardier should still be making them. Judging
from the fun Head has been having with these vintage sleds,
they had better be. |
