If you go into welder Clint Habart’s workplace, Minute Muffler in Cranbrook, B.C., you will see a wall of photos showing the dozens of trucks that were lifted at the shop.
“I have always loved trucks with lift kits,” said Habart. “We do more of them at our shop than any other place around.”
Habart’s truck—a giant, black Ford 650 with chrome everything, including stairs that accordion out from the cab and crew cab—was built by Supertruck in Augusta, Georgia. Supertruck famously built a vehicle for Shaquille O’Neill, the 2.16 metre tall (7’1”), 147-kilogram (325-pound) NBA star. Shaq looks regular-sized when he stands in front of his Supertruck.
Habart’s truck is awesome—it has presence. The downside of the giant truck is that it was pretty much impossible to get Habart’s snowmobile into the box.
As an avid sledder, Habart has the 2010 Yamaha FX Nytro, an incredible crossover sled that shreds on and off trail in style and comfort.
“I like to get a new sled every couple of years,” said Habart. “I love snowmobiling.”
Habart used his welding skills to make a deck powered by a hydraulic scissor lift. He wired a push button onto the dash of his truck and loads and unloads his sled with ease.
